A different kind of owner
Greek private education is being bought. Costeas-Geitonas passed to a shipping investor and then to an international group inside two years, and it is not the only one.
A school run by a non-profit society is insulated from that in a way a commercially owned one is not. Whether that matters to a particular family is a judgement, but it is a real structural difference and almost nobody raises it.
It is also the sort of question worth asking of any school before enrolling: who owns it, and what happens to it if they sell.
