Fedeli 1934, Astir Marina

Boutique, Italian knitwear · Astir Marina, Vouliagmeni

A Monza hat-maker that became one of Italy's serious knitwear houses. The least famous good thing on the promenade.

The retail promenade at Astir Marina: a run of glass shopfronts under a long white canopy, Karkalis and Alos among them.

Commercial relationship

None. LivingTheta has no commercial relationship with Fedeli or with Astir Marina and receives nothing from either.

What it is
Boutique, knitwear Founded in Monza by Luigi Fedeli as a hat-making atelier.
Where
Astir Marina, Vouliagmeni 77 Apollonos Street, on the Astir peninsula.
Shop hours
Daily, 11:00 to 20:00 The marina publishes one set of retail hours for the whole promenade. Restaurant hours differ.

Fedeli began in Monza as a hat-making atelier and became, over four generations, one of Italy's more respected knitwear houses — cable knits in the post-war years, then a long specialisation in fine-gauge cotton and cashmere.

The shop you have not heard of

A promenade of Dior, Gucci, Louis Vuitton and Rolex has exactly one tenant most readers will not recognise, and it is this one. That is worth registering rather than walking past.

A house with a single narrow speciality carried across four generations is usually where the quality per euro sits, and it is almost always the least photographed shop on the street.

The pillar file has the rest.

An introduction is worth more than a list

In this category the name of a shop is close to useless. The name of a person inside it is not. Tell us what you are actually trying to buy and we will point you at the door and, where we can, at the person behind it.

  • 01 A human reads it. Always.
  • 02 We name names, and we say why.
  • 03 Any commercial relationship is disclosed up front.
  • 04 Nothing you send us is sold to anyone.

Where we earn a referral fee we say so on the page it appears. Nothing in the editorial rankings is for sale. Read the charter.

What is this about?

We reply within one working day. Your details are never sold or passed on without your say-so.
