Moorings sits where the water fills the view, and it has been the dining room on this marina for longer than any of the shops around it have been open. Mediterranean cooking, a wine list it makes a point of, cocktails.
The view problem, stated plainly
This is the best-sited restaurant on the quay, and that is a fact about the site rather than about the kitchen. On this coast a seafront table carries a premium that has nothing to do with the cooking — a fair trade on the right evening, and a bad habit as a default.
We have not eaten here and are not telling you whether the kitchen justifies the position. The tells that separate a kitchen from a view are the ones to apply yourself, and the first of them is whether they open in February.
