Northrop & Johnson has been trading since 1949, is run from the Lauderdale Marine Center, and covers sales, charter, charter management, yacht management, new build consultation, crew and insurance across fourteen offices.
The sister-company point
MarineMax bought Northrop & Johnson in July 2020, a year after buying Fraser, and put both inside a superyacht division in June 2024. They are the one genuinely commonly owned pair on this list.
A client running a competitive process between the two is not getting two independent views. That is not a criticism of either firm; it is a thing to know before you set the process up.
