Tsolka Architects works out of an office on Athinas Avenue in Kavouri. Marialena Tsolka established the architectural practice in its present form in 2015; the family has been developing on the southern suburbs since the late eighties.
What being on the headland means
The published houses are all within a few minutes of the office: Litous House, a four-storey steel frame on a narrow sloping seafront plot; Thalia, three residences stacked in one building; Thiseos House on a dual-aspect site.
Those are the plot conditions that actually exist here. Kavouri is mostly not for sale and never was, which means the parcels that trade are the awkward ones, and an office that has already solved a narrow slope three times is worth more than one that has solved a flat site thirty times.
The thing to raise in the first meeting
They develop as well as design. That is a legitimate and long-standing part of the business, and it means the interests in a conversation about your plot are not automatically only yours. Ask directly. A practice that answers it cleanly is telling you something good.
